Bringing Stories to Life
Dogs in Wellies Theatre Company celebrates the insight and craft that come with experience. We are creating acting opportunities and actively making and producing work to highlight the expertise and creativity of actors and writers over the age of 50. Our mission is to give voice and give a start to professionals in all phases of their careers. We highlight mature and emerging artists of all ages who share a commitment to meaningful storytelling. We aim to enrich the cultural landscape by showcasing performances that reflect talent, experience, and a commitment to artistic excellence.
Our company is building a diverse repertoire, staging both innovative original plays and experimental theatre. We are bringing new voices onto the scene, giving emerging playwrights, actors, & directors the stage to have their work seen!
We approach every production with care, craft and respect for the work. Our focus is on thoughtful storytelling, strong performances and the kind of theatre that stays with you long after the lights come up.
We take pieces from the first scribbles on a napkin to fully fledged productions, one step at a time, and give each piece the room to grow into its full potential. We refine, revise, prove, and perform a piece, letting it breathe, evolve, and mature.
Waving began as a conversation, and is now poised to take the stage at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
We are hiring a social media manager for our upcoming shows.
We produce new work. If you have a stage ready play or idea you would like to develop, get in contact! We're ready to produce your show.
WAVING
A debut play by Rosalind Philp
Coming to The White Bear in London and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe
In a coastal studio, a brilliant artist begins her final portrait as Alzheimer’s unravels the life she built. Her adult children, raised in the shadow of her talent question everything they thought they knew. Her naturally gifted son has become self‑destructive. Her daughter carries burdens that were never hers to bear. Waving is a moving and humorous look at creativity, care, and the complicated inheritance of being raised by someone extraordinary.
Waving debuted in 2025 at the Etcetera Theatre in Camden, and continues its journey in July at the White Bear in London, followed on by Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August.
